About JLEL
Journal of Language Education and Literacy (JLEL) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by the Language Education and Literacy Research Group (LELRG) under the auspices of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Universitas Negeri Padang, Indonesia.
JLEL provides an academic platform for researchers, scholars, educators, and practitioners to disseminate original research and scholarly work in the fields of language education, literacy studies, and applied linguistics. The journal promotes scholarly dialogue and the exchange of research-based knowledge across diverse educational, linguistic, cultural, and geographical contexts.
JLEL publishes original research articles, conceptual/theoretical papers, and systematic literature reviews that demonstrate clear scholarly contributions to the development of theory, research, policy, or practice in language education, literacy, and related areas.
The journal's areas of interest include language teaching and learning, second and foreign language acquisition, literacy development and literacy education, reading and writing instruction, digital and multimodal literacies, language assessment, curriculum and materials development, technology-enhanced language learning, multilingualism and multilingual education, language policy and planning, language teacher education, and related developments in applied linguistics.
JLEL particularly welcomes manuscripts that demonstrate sound theoretical and methodological foundations and offer meaningful theoretical, methodological, pedagogical, or practical contributions to the advancement of language education and literacy.
All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal's requirements and fall within its focus and scope are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process involving at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
JLEL provides immediate open access to its published content and does not charge authors a submission fee or Article Processing Charge (APC).
