Copyright and Licensing
Journal of Language Education and Literacy (JLEL) is committed to protecting authors' rights while supporting the open dissemination and responsible reuse of scholarly knowledge.
Copyright
Authors retain the copyright to their articles published in JLEL.
By submitting and publishing an article in JLEL, authors grant the Journal of Language Education and Literacy (JLEL) the right of first publication and authorize the journal to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, preserve, and make the article publicly available as part of the scholarly record.
Authors may disseminate and archive their published articles through institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal or institutional websites, scholarly networks, and other appropriate non-commercial platforms, subject to the terms of the applicable Creative Commons license.
Licensing
Unless otherwise indicated, articles published in JLEL are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
Under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, users are permitted to:

Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material.
These permissions are granted under the following conditions:

Attribution (BY) — Appropriate credit must be given to the original author(s), a link to the license must be provided, and any changes made to the material must be indicated. Attribution must not suggest that the author(s), JLEL, or the publisher endorses the user or the use of the material.

Author Rights
Authors retain copyright in their published work and, subject to the terms of the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license and any applicable third-party rights, may:

Deposit the article in institutional or subject repositories;

Make the article available through personal or institutional websites;

Use the article for teaching and other non-commercial academic activities;

Include the article, in whole or in part, in future scholarly works where appropriate; and

Disseminate the article through appropriate scholarly and academic networks.
When redistributing or reusing the published article, authors are encouraged to provide complete bibliographic information and a DOI or link to the original publication in JLEL.
Third-Party Material
The CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license applies to the content of JLEL articles unless otherwise indicated.
Images, figures, tables, datasets, photographs, illustrations, or other third-party materials included in an article may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions. Materials not covered by the article's CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license should be clearly identified through an appropriate credit line or copyright notice.
Authors are responsible for obtaining any permissions required to reproduce copyrighted third-party materials in their articles.
Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted work does not unlawfully infringe the copyright, intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights of third parties.
Where copyrighted material is reproduced with permission, authors must provide appropriate acknowledgment and documentation of permission when requested by the Editorial Office.
