Archiving and Preservation
Journal of Language Education and Literacy (JLEL) is committed to the long-term digital preservation of all published content to ensure permanent access for the global scientific community.
Digital Archiving and Backups
All published articles, metadata, and website contents are stored and backed up across multiple secure digital systems. The full-text articles are preserved in PDF and HTML/XML formats on dedicated servers and cloud storage. Routine automated backups are performed to prevent data loss. In the event of a primary server failure, backup servers ensure that the journal website remains fully accessible within 24 to 36 hours.
Self-Archiving Policy
JLEL supports and encourages self-archiving. Authors are permitted to deposit the final published version (Version of Record) of their articles in personal websites, institutional repositories, or thematic repositories immediately upon publication, provided that full bibliographic details and a link to the original publication (including DOI) are included.
Indexing and Persistent Identifiers
All articles published in JLEL are assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) powered by Crossref. JLEL complies with Open Archives Initiative (OAI-PMH) protocols, allowing automated harvesting of article metadata by indexing databases and global digital archives to enhance content discoverability and security.
Long-Term Preservation (LOCKSS / CLOCKSS / PKP PN)
To guarantee permanent digital preservation, JLEL utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) archiving systems, as well as the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). These systems enable participating libraries to create permanent, distributed archives of JLEL’s published content for long-term preservation and restoration.
Journal Continuation and Trigger Events
If JLEL ceases publication due to unforeseen circumstances or catastrophic system failure, all previously published articles will remain permanently accessible to readers through the LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and PKP PN archival networks.
